UK training

The UK charity Women’s Aid offers training to anyone who works with victims of domestic and sexual abuse (and their children).

The training courses are run by highly experienced professionals and will equip you to support survivors more effectively – whilst giving you a much greater insight into the many complex issues involved in tackling domestic and sexual abuse.

The course is suitable for professionals working within the domestic and sexual violence sector and for professionals working in related sectors such as health practitioners, youth workers, teachers, housing officers and the police.

Currently, there are also 12 colleges in the UK offering domestic violence counselling courses. These courses tend to be part-time and of a short duration, so they could be a useful way to boost your knowledge of domestic abuse, whilst equipping you to support victims more effectively.
